What is a zine?

A zine is a fanmade collection of art, writing, comics- and more! These can be physical books, or digital flipbooks- and often have merch included!

Will this zine be physical or digital?

This zine will be fully digital!

Is this zine for profit?

This zine is NOT for profit- however, we encourage our supporters to consider donating to the following charities supporting members of the LGBTQIA+ community!
- The Trevor Project
- Human Rights Campaign

Is there an age requirement?

All we ask is for you to be 13+, which is the age minimum to use Discord- which is our primary source of communication with contributors!

Are collaborations allowed?

Yes! If you have somebody already in mind, please note it down on your application! Otherwise, please make sure you have enough time to complete your collaborative piece on time.

Is traditional and 3D allowed?

Yes! 3D art and renders are completely alright! For traditional art, we ask that you have a high-quality scan of your piece (at least 300 DPI) for your submission!

Is prior experience needed?

No! We review applications by portfolio and pitches, not by experience!

What do I need to apply?

For page artists and merchandise artists, you will need to submit a portfolio of 5-8 pieces of prior work. This should demonstrate your technical ability with anatomy, color, composition, etc. These DO NOT have to be Splatoon related, however it’s recommended that you do include at least one example of your Splatoon works!
For writers, you will need to submit an up to 3k word sample of your works. This can be multiple pieces, but MUST have under a 6k word limit. (Slightly over is okay, just not by a significant amount!)
Visual portfolios should be sent in the form of a clean, gallery-like art account, a Google Drive folder, a website, or anything that can host your artwork in a clean, concise matter. Writers should submit their work in preferably a Google Doc, but may submit a file if needed.
